City2Surf

Yes! 2 minutes off my time from last year! > last year result <

I’ve been running and training a lot more these past few weeks to get fit for Tough Mudder but also for the City2Surf.¬†With all the predictions of blizzards, rain and heavy winds the weather turned out to be amazing!

It wasn’t too hot (actually perfect running conditions) and even had tailwinds running up Heart Break Hill. ¬†This doesn’t mean it got any easier but better than a headwind running up a hill.

For some reason this year there were no supporters to cheer you on and tell you how far you need to go. This actually made me wonder if this wasn’t heart break hill.. good thing it wasn’t…

Here is a more detailed overview of my City2Surf 2012 experience :)

As you can see from the image below, Split 7 and 8 was heart break hill. After that it was a pretty smooth ride all the way down and even in around the 13km mark I did a great time :)

Worst Part of City2Surf

I don’t know about you, but the worst part is the last 500 meters / 1km. It is when you run down the hill towards Bondi Beach and you realize that you have to run the whole bloody beach to then turn around and reach the finish line.

Awww man…

I knew it from last year but still you I made the same mistake as last year…
