Facebook, what a great invention. To be honest, because of Facebook I have been able to stay in touch with a lot of friends all across the world a lot easier and more frequent. It is so easy to use and it just gets better and better.
Every website needs to have a facebook page these days, MyRun has one too and it has given me the ability to connect with so many other people who share a similar interest; Running.
I am not an experienced runner, but everyone has to start somewhere to become one and that is exactly what I had in mind when starting this website. I share my experiences, the good and the bad, and encourage YOU (the readers) to assist with getting more and more knowledgeable about running and everything that comes with it.
On my facebook page I don’t want to just publish, or republish, the posts that you can read here. That is not really very interesting for you and me. It is however a great way to get your insights on some particular topics very quickly and can also give me inspiration for new blogposts.
Recently I’ve asked you a few questions via the Facebook Questions feature, thank you for all who’ve answered and participated. If you haven’t seen these questions, don’t worry I will publish them below.
While exercising and taking care of your food intake make the world of difference in losing weight and keeping it off, not everyone is really that focused in counting those callories. For the recored, neither am I, my food and drink intake was:
- The lot Breakfast (fried eggs, 2 slices of toast, sausage, bacon, tomato and a hashbrown)
- Large cup of cappuccino
- Banana Smoothie
- For dinner (not decided yet) will probably be a meat dinner. Tomorrow’s dinner will be spare ribs and not a lot of salad
This breakfast ritual is pretty much a weekend starter for me and to be honest, not really in a hurry to change that either. I love it and I know its not the healthiest option but this week I went to the gym 3 times and had a 6km run on a different day, so plenty of exercise to counteract the calorie bonanza. During the week I don’t eat a lot of fat food, I do watch myself and try to do some sort of exercise on a daily basis. My personal opinion, if you exercise daily (3/4 times a week), eat in moderation you should be able to eat whatever you want.
I was surprised to see the results of this question. There are so many running groups out there that I would have thought a running group would end up a lot higher or with a lot more votes. Running alone I can imagine it would be up there as number one. For a lot of people it is a way to start the morning, finish the day or just have some time for themselves. It can be very therapeutic.
If you have some comments or just anything to add, please do! I would appreciate every comment and feedback so don’t be shy. Also if you are in Sydney and want to run a fun race, check the Blackmores Sydney Running Festival out. You can run over the Harbour Bridge!
Happy Running!

Well having sausage, bacon and hashbrowns, and you run. This is what defines a serious runner and a Wanna Bee. I have difficulty with people saying they can’t loose weight and run tons, yet to neglect they eat tons of all the wrong stuff. If you don’t know by now that this kinda stuff is only good in very very small amounts, called moderation, then you’re behind the times. So either call yourself a jogger and continue, or step up to the plate and eat properly and pick up the pace and stop making excuses for not doing well.

Auch Patrick!
But you are very right. I absolutely know that diet (moderation) is 70%, some say 90% of the way to loose weight. I personally don’t run to loose weight. That is not my primary objective for running. I like it because it makes me feel good, get fitter and it’s nice to do outside.
I currently weigh around 83/85 kg’s and I’m 185 cm tall, so pretty average and don’t think I weigh too much for it to be a concern. Would I like those extra, say 4/5kg, to go away ofcourse! But I also think that because I am running I can eat pretty much eat what I want ( I don’t eat candy and stuff) and not gaining lots of weight.
Thanks for your input Patrick
